You don't know me that well at all, but oh well. Liz. If you can't think of some answers, it's totally cool.

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm.. trickier than some, but I'll try!

1. I still don't have a good feel for you, only surface-level thoughts, really. I wonder what's "under the hood".

2. Sin City.. because you were gaga for it recently.

3. I think Scooter is a cutie-poop, and is well-named.

4. I remember that you seemed to fall out of the ether.. hadn't seen a lot of commentary before you got into your new relationship.

5. Well, just CK complaining about other people talking about you and him on LJ, really. He's got to let that stuff go.

6. I wonder where you'll be in a year, what your mindset will be. you seem quite capable of change.

[identity profile] lizzola.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I appreciate your answers, and like them quite a bit. What's under the hood? A lot of people ask that question.

As for him letting it go... it's hard you know? Just today I got four separate comments from people who used to be friends and it's hard. Such is life, though. I'll move on at some point, but the stinging words still hurt.

[identity profile] missv.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Do me, baby! ;)

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I love Faster Pussycat, and therefore, have alway's dug your nickname.

2. well, Faster, of course! Also, Weird Science, for some reason.

3. You're the guaridan of Lucielle's Sanctum and are just generally nifty, natch.

4. I remember you were one of my most longtime vampire game players. :) And, you sent Newtie a lovely Superhero cape! :D

5. Library-style questions. And Lefties. And Cowboy Bebop.

6. I’ll then tell you something that I’ve wondered about you.

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
6. How do you keep from spilling the beans (what you know) to hubby?

Re: DO IT

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I used to use the word uber- a lot as a catch-prefix, and liked your reasoning for a username immediately. I also think that your funky chin-beard is cool.

2. http://www.gs17.com/moskau/moskau.swf MOSKAU! MOSKAU! (see also - http://www.menet.umn.edu/~gladkov/music/dschinghis_khan.htm )

3. You remind me of an alternate-earth version of me. With more porn, and less cat. I've got a goatee already, so you had to do something else facial-hair-wise

4. a bunch of crazy clown stuff via mzk... she wanted me to doctor a picture of you to look all clowny.

5. Pie-eating contests. Man, I wanted to go to pie day!

6. Do any hard drugs last decade?

Re: DO IT

[identity profile] uberbastard.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
So you're saying I'm like that time when kirk beamed onto the evil enterprise. Didn't everyone have evil chin hair there.

If that's the case would the universe cease to exist if we occupied the same space?

6. Do any hard drugs last decade?

All of them it would seem.

Re: DO IT

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, the universe would explode into a beautiful place, filled with pie.

Careful with the drugs. prefer pie.

Knock yourself out!

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
1. One day, we *will* dine together!

2. Brown-eyed girl... I think Rob was mentioning that song, or you were.

3. You're making Rob happy... that's pretty dang likable!

4. I rembered seeing your icon making the rounds on LJ, and wondering if that was you, a clip from some doodle, or what. I never did actually get around to asking.

5. Going by shirttail charlie's or the thai place, and going "dang, I've got to set a time!"

6. I wonder about your future.. what'll be up in the next year or 5. Lots of growth ahead for you, in all directions, job, kidlets, etc.

[identity profile] constance1010.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It is just a picture that one of my friends sent to me when I got LJ for user icons. I really like it. I do that action a lot with my hair and find the colors kinda reflect me when I am mellow.

And yes.. we will dine together at some point. After June I will be kidlet free so will have more flexibility for times.

Yeah.. I wonder about my future.. more about the next month than 5 years from now... but I honestly see myself changing countries by September 2006.

[identity profile] sirenity.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you recently did something like this but ahhhh, what the hell. It's fun. Hit me!

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I did, but I liked this variant. :)

1. I think you're making a great mom so far. Your love is obvious.

2. I attach you to Fantasy Island...A happy paradise where dreams come true.

3. I like that you're very exuberant about so much that you do, and that you help to define your family with your indeviduality and love.

4. First Memory of you that immediately leaps to mind is an old pic of your husband's insanely great handwriting in the sand... and your smiling face in that same entry.

5. Most classic crucifixes / religious art remind me of you, the whole madonna thing.

6. I wonder how you'll deal with being a grandmother, when your own kid(s) have kids! I really hope that you'll still be documenting your life, so that I can see in words and pictures. :)

[identity profile] sirenity.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Re: being a grandmother - I wish you could meet/see my mom. You'd understand that I can only hope to be like she is. If I'm doing a good job with the mommy thing, it's only because I had such an amazing mother of my own.

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
rock on, and pass it along! :D

I can only imagine you'd be awesome at any job that requires familial love. :D

[identity profile] myid8myego.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
me me me :-)

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
1. You're so sharp that you'll cut yourself, if you're not careful! ;)

2. Kim Possible... only acrobatic redhead smartie that comes to mind.

3. You're a cheeky monkey.

4. Your whole "smuggle a tape out, and show megalomaniac rice kid to people not in the field" incident.

5. Delicious vegetarian recipes. :)

6. motivations and choices. What makes you tick.

[identity profile] myid8myego.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Nuh uh! ...okay, maybe. Hee.

2. I bet Kim has never kicked herself in the face hard enough to split her lip. Sigh.

3. Aren't we all?

4. Man. It was just too good; I had to share it.

5. I'll send you the one for eggplant mush. It was good on an unearthly scale.

6. You and me both, dude :-)

[identity profile] mary919.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
And I don't have to do anything but reply?

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's right!

1. You're usually quiet, but pop up from time to time. I orignally wondered if you were an alter-ego of resilience.

2. Cole Porter - Let' smisbehave... you inspired me to go download it. :)

3. You like Pina coladas! yum!

4. Something about smores and your mom? Graham crackers are the yum.

5. the scent of garlic crabs on the beach!

6. I wonder if you're worried about putting pictures of yourself or your daughter up on the net.

Re: #6

[identity profile] mary919.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You think I'm worried about it because I don't put many pictures up or you think I should be more careful about it than I am?

I've actually heard BOTH from other people :) :) I have some on my flist who post tons of family pictures and some who never post any.

But I'm curious about what you think because the more I read you lately the more I think you're one of the sane ones and I don't think of you as one who posts a lot of pictures (except of Newt) but you post enough that I know what you look like... so can't really tell how you feel about it.

Privacy issues as the net evolves are interesting. There are some who are completely open and seem so vulnerable, but it must be very liberating.

Anyway-- from your responses I apparently post a lot about food-- and just did another big post about food!!! How well we start to know each other around here :) :)

Re: #6

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that it depends. (Actually, I was wondering what your stance was.)

Thanks for thinking I'm one of the sane ones!

I'd say that if I had a child, I'd only post pictures in filtered posts, and certainly wouldn't give cues as to where I was going or if the baby was going to be someplace insecure.

Newt's my buddy, but I don't think anyone will try to kidnap him... I hope not, anyhow! I have perosnal webcams up to be able to check in on m house, too.. pictures sent to internet storage, in case someone breaks in and steals my computer, or whatnot.

Well, posting about food is a wonderful thing, especially when it's food that I like!

[identity profile] eryx-uk.livejournal.com 2005-05-24 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Go for it. :)

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
1. Reply and I’ll write something about you.

despite the fact that we have a lot of differing beliefs, I admire your fondness for movies that I don't much like, and our mutual keenness about zombies.

2. I will then tell you what song/movie/artist reminds me of you.

Dr. Who... you get to tune in and see it, you lucky dog!

3. I will tell you something I like about you.

You game regularly, yets eem to be a normal joe. The world needs more of those.

4. I will tell you the first memory of you that comes to mind.

A review of the D&D movie you wrote on the Necro boards... I remember wondering if you actually liked it, or if you were teasing the other folks!

5. I will tell you what reminds me of you on an ordinary basis.

Most Vampire stuff - and half the UK bounces that pop up over a given day.

6. I’ll then tell you something that I’ve wondered about you.

Have you traveled around Europe, or have you stuck mostly to the UK?

[identity profile] eryx-uk.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 12:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm stuck in the UK, though I have been to France once and a school trip to the Isle of Wight (which may as well be a foreign country).:)

Normal Joe, eh? I don't get called that very often. ;)

Thanks

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)

pak, Chooie unf.

Reminds me of the space robots.

http://newgrounds.com/portal/view/33440

Space has a terrible power. Do you have stairs in your house?

1. Reply and I’ll write something about you.

I've always liked your writng style and sense of humor. I was really happy to see that you came back to post again after a long hiatus.

2. I will then tell you what song/movie/artist reminds me of you.

I tend to think about Kevin Smith's "Dogma" lately about you... maybe it's the religious recovery, and you finding something actually spiritual and kind in words that have long been used to be oppressive.

3. I will tell you something I like about you.

I like all sorts of things about you. I like that you grow, and become a better person on a regular basis. I like that you say that you like everyone, and that you really mean it. I like that you're a father. You're well suited to it.

4. I will tell you the first memory of you that comes to mind.

You know what? I don't like to be told I can't do something! "Cheerios are unsinkable" BAH I say! I'm going to continue to try and sink this cheerio until I succeed! Not sure why that's so powerful to my mind. Hooray for Cheerios!

5. I will tell you what reminds me of you on an ordinary basis.

Lots of stuff. San Fransisco. Minute Maid. When text content and graphic arts mix in my head.

6. I’ll then tell you something that I’ve wondered about you.

I'm pretty open. If I have a question, I'll usually ask. I wonder what causes the major life changes you've gone through. What opens some doors and closes others, to make you continue to evolve.

Re: unf unf unf

[identity profile] mootpoint.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Pak, Chooie Unf. That seemed very... european.

I've got a new number six for you:

How the h*** do you find all these websites? :)

1. Yeah but now I'm all paranoid about my writing. It felt better back in the day when all the ladies were flirty and thought I was a genius. But I'm glad that is over because now should be the time of real progress.

Glad your still poundin the keys too!

2. I use to frequent smith's web board over at viewaskew.com or somesuch. That was when I tested out the zephyrwindow thing. I liked and disliked Dogma. I bought the DVD before I ever owned a DVD player though. I lost it before I got one too. Sometimes I feel less like a Christian in church than I do driving to work. Which I like. I want to wear that in peoples faces and yet have them never notice it. Until they notice it of course.

3. I have moments, usually in traffic, when I'm not so fond of *everyone*, but it doesn't last and I usually feel bad if I've said anything out loud. I know that makes me sound a little like a sissy, but so be it. For a long time I thought being a "man" meant being mean (learned from dad). He and I both changed our minds on that one. Mostly together and the truth is, he is one of my best friends right now.

4. If you wait long enough they will actually sink. I find that comforting on some level.

5. I was just talking about San Fran with the wife the other day. We had plans of moving there for school someday. Those plans dissolved somewhere and it makes me sad to think about it... but we're not dead yet.

6. I don't drink because I don't want to become what my father was for a long time (as a suprise announcment he just recently let me know that he and his girlfriend are indeed getting married. This Thursday. No kidding. And he hasn't drank in almost a year if you can believe it.) same thing with the drugs. I know that my nature is to over-indulge. I can't trust myself to limits. I don't always evolve. Real change is hard. But the possibilities get me excited and keep me up at night, day dreaming. I love the idea of making my kids proud, but I also just want to have interesting things to say in conversations. I dropped out of school when I was a freshman in college so I think my approach to learning is quite different than most. For better and worse in equal amounts. A lot of my most recent changes have initially been inspired by you. And I am totally digging fishstories.

Thank you for these kind answers/questions!

Re: unf unf unf

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know... it seems that a lot of these websites find me.

Sometimes I think that the Net is a lot smaller than people make it out to be. either that, or only .0001% ever get really pushed around as shared info.

Ah, you're still a genius! Girls just don't flirt as much now, because you're married. (or do they?) Where did you meet AprilJoy and Punquin, anyhow?

I agree with you about Dogma... I think you put off a nice Christian vibe, in the way I like to see the word Christian used. You're kind, and straightforward.

I don't think you're a sissy. I think you know better than to be a meanie is all.

HOW LONG MUST I WAIT FOR CHEERIOS TO SINK? Will California Sink First?

I'm really enjoying fishstories, too. I'm very flattered that I may've helped you to grow as a person in a direction that you want, too.

My pleasure to ask, thank you for going with the flow!

[identity profile] gilbertbee.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
Me replying.

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Reply and I’ll write something about you.

Your idea about light-up tampons as a star wars cross-promotion is genius.

2. I will then tell you what song/movie/artist reminds me of you.

Well, does Lost count? The pictures struck me as nifty. Also neat that you identify with mustardseed.

3. I will tell you something I like about you.

You come across as very human. Your life seems real, and not full of BS. Also, Pictures of Gracie! :D

4. I will tell you the first memory of you that comes to mind.

Seeing the LP icon of you with "KLAM SUX" written on it, and it made me laugh, for no good reason. I still don't know what that means.

5. I will tell you what reminds me of you on an ordinary basis.

Whenever I see a bumblebee picture, I think of you and juliabee almost immediately. :)

6. I’ll then tell you something that I’ve wondered about you.

What does KLAM SUX mean, anyhow?

[identity profile] gilbertbee.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Lol. I live in Klamath Falls, OR. It is a hole of a town, but it is home. I usually use the icon when I have gossip for people on my friends list who used to live here, or if I just feel like griping. :)

[identity profile] chrishaas.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Go, Scotto, go.

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Well, you're something of a phantom here on LJ. I rarely see traces of you aside from polls and the occasional comment here.

2. I haven't gotten a strong sense of your perosnality in all these years, but I'll pull one out of the ether for you - Invisible Man - Queen

3. I like that I've never seen you be cruel to anyone, and that you've made cath55 happy in spots.

4. I remember you appearing in sweetalyssm's journal, here and there, and being sort of an enigma, but not so much so even then.

5. Whenever I see a LJ poll, I wonder if you'll answer it.

6. Who do you approach LJ in this way? Also, how many other accounts do you have, and is there a primary one other than chrishaas? Do I know them?

[identity profile] greenelvish.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Whee! My turn!!!

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
1. You're probably the most local LJer I currently read. I susect that you're within blocks of my apartment!

2. No particular song or movie, but whelan's art reminds me a bit of you.

3. You're very earthy, grounded and into the world.. how it works, etc. SOIL MAGIC!

4. Something about the RenFaire, I think. Hooray for fairies!

5. Newt barking at invisible ghosts outside. I'll ask him "Is that Wilbur coming to visit you?"

6. I wonder why I've not seen you on my walkabouts and bus-rides yet.. but maybe I have, and just didn't realise it!

[identity profile] tarpo.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Once again.. jumping on the bandwagon

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-25 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I'm really glad that you've moved on from your prior crap, and gotten someplace happy with your new gal.

2. Song - Boot to the Head.

3. You've got a solid, smartass sense of humor. Admirable trait!

4. first memory off the top on my head is your visit and boxing match with newt!

5. Sorry bub, but the word "Dildo" reminds me of you. Your fault... that icon.

6. I wonder if your able to take picutes of the assorted drunks, goobers and hookers that walk in.

[identity profile] scottobear.livejournal.com 2005-05-26 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
1. You're one of my longest - run lj pals! I'm not sure how you tripped over me, or if I tripped over you. I suspect it was via sweetalyssm, kellie or applelard. I've always really liked you and your writing... a long standing huge soft spot, really.

2. That CD of "A winner is you!"

3. You're a talented writer, have a jamming sense of humor, and have a great deal more depth than the vast majority of journalists here.

4. I remember getting a postcard from you from Disneyland, years ago. 2001? I still have it in one of my scrapbooks!

5. Stick figures!

6. I've often wondered what you'll do for a living ten years down the line. Where will you be?
