I'm going to hate going into work today. My estimate is that my home connection is about 5 times faster than there. (or about 50x faster than my dial up, from before. Napster's going to get it now...

Chevy Chase is guest hosting on regis... *shudder.

My work was about 10x speedier than dialup... lots of bandwidth piggies... boss , plus a few napsteroids.

how far is the school form home? put an airport card in one of the machines, and if you're within like a 1/4 mile or so, you can use it!! :)

Whaa? Huh? All of that just flew right over my head! Airport? Card thingie?

Would it work from a networked PC to a single Mac? I don't know what the security is like around here with the network... would it matter?

well, security varies, but usually, if you can get a card, you can do anything and have access to anything that machine does... are you close enough to make use of it?

Dunno. How close is close enough? I have no idea how many miles away I am from here... it takes about 20 minutes to drive here from my house and vice versa. Does that sound close enough?

And, how much does this thingie cost about?

no.. probably too far, unless traffic is *really bad*...

usually works up to about 1/4 mile.

it's not too spendy, but it looks like you're out of range... *hug*

Yay for speedy connections!!! I spent the weekend at my bro.'s, and he has DSL. A 20-minute poem downloaded off Napster took less than five minutes to take, while here at my house, a 5-minute song takes between 10 and 15 minutes! I'm jealous!
