The 'Summer of Love' started on a street called Haight.

I always thought that was weird.

speaking of which...

I avoided the vw bug resurgence, even though it was pretty neat. But now the microbus is coming back? Neato Bandito! I've always enjoyed vehicles that look like a cross between a cold pill and a space capsule....

Have you ever BEEN to Haight? Actually, I love it there, but I guess it's changed a lot since it's "SoL" days. ;>

I love my little bubble car -- Toyota ECHOs -- how cute! And he's red, too! =D

Aww! give it a little hug for me! the ECHO is a cutie.

Haight seemed to have some anger when I went last. Lots of homeless-appearing, punk kid street types, demanding change from the more weathy looking passers-by.

I named my ECHO "Mic" because he looks like a Micro Machine. Fear not, hugs to Mic are en route.

I guess I was exempt from that anger because I probably kinda looked like one of those punk kids. Then again, for some reason, people seem to relax around me. At least my hair was dyed midnight blue anymore! All-in-all, San Francisco was an awesome trip. (I went in December -- absotively loverly.)

Oh, they didn't hassle me for the same reason. (Scruffy oversize hippie looks like he has no $$, and might damage a meanie syndrome)

Awesome! I hope you got to go to the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum! And to Yerba Buena Gardens ... which was probably in progress in '94. And I hope you got to go through Golden Gate Park and to the Japanese Tea Gardens and the Botanical Gardens and rode the BART and found all the good, non-Starbucks coffee shops (those things are EVERYWHERE up there), and just had fun in general.

Oh, I did, actually! (I wanted to compare it to the one in Key West). Very spiffy. :)

I didn't go to many of those named places, but I did ride BART, and did have a doozy of a good time. :) Thank you!
