I'm with you amigo. McCain 2000 had something to offer. McCain 2008 - not so much. It's disappointing, really.

I think Palin will end up being an overall negative for McCain. Dan Quayle is not a great benchmark to be compared to. And Palin's lack of experience puts McCain's age back on the table.
