Tooth is still giving me minor fits. Antibiotic seems to be taking it down, though. It was a little hard to chew supper, but it was quite tasty.

BHK went thrifting yesterday with Tina - got some good loot - a few chick-lit books for herself, a kepler and his mom on witch trial book for me, along with a white dress shirt, also for me - some brand new kitchen knives. (as opposed to what... bathroom knives? office knives?)

Additionally, when she got my antibiotics at the drugstore, she picked me up yellow and red canisters of drying model clay. could be handy to make some game pieces, or just silly fun sculptures and items. It'll be good practice for future sculpey stuff.

Seeing BQ.. erm, SaH reminded me that BHK and I are long overdue for a meal at the vegetable garden. Rockville isn't all that far away and despite what R.E.M. says, I could hit the Micro Center up there, too. I'd also like to visit Yuan Fu, which was our alternate plan if VG was closed.

I guess that since I do crab and shrimp that I'm more of a pescetarian than a true veggie.

One of the most nifty game ideas in a long time - levelhead - it uses a hand-held solid-plastic cube as its only interface. On-screen it appears each face of the cube contains a little room, each of which are logically connected by doors. In one of these rooms is a character. By tilting the cube the player directs this character from room to room in an effort to find the exit.

check out the video demo to get a good idea how it works.

Also - it looks like the Ghostbusters game is in a bit of trouble... may not get released - at least for a while. It looks good, and the chance for another year of development might even make it worth the wait.

That stinks about your toof. :(((

Funny that I read about your mention of pescetarians, mere minutes after I learned I was pretty much a flexitarian for about 15 years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexitarian

Gonna check out the clay! I've used various paper clays for several things, and found most of them lacking due to cracks & fragility.

it'll be fixed next week!

Let me know what sort of clay works best for you!

I will!

Bought a tiny pack of the white clay yesterday. Planning to use it for pawprint impressions, so that I'll have personalized mementos of my now kitties...when I'm 98. ;)

You should! I got the idea from seeing hand print kits for toddlers, done in plaster.

Before my poodle Sarah died, I did impressions of her two front paw pads. Actually..several, in case I lost one, or broke one over time. I did it to remember her by. The morning after she was put to sleep, I was so *grateful* to have them.

Oh, and if you do paw prints in white or a light color of the Crayola clay, you might want to to seal it after it's dried. I just found out it's extremely porous like air dry paper clay is, and holds dents easily, too. Paper clay gets really dirty with time, if not sealed.

Polymer clay doesn't have that issue, plus it holds details better. But polymer can snap or pieces can snap off easy, if made too thin.

Of course, still reasons for both kinds of clay. :0)

Sorry about your toofie!

Looks like Georgetown has a pretty good veggie friendly place, too--Harmony Cafe. All the reviews I've seen rave about the Crispy Shiitake Mushrooms. Might be something to put on your schedule for some time when you find yourself in the city. I know I am going to try it some time.

I also decided (for now, anyway) it is okay to eat shrimp and crabs and other shellfish (but no fin fish). I do feel kinda guilty about it, so I don't do it unless there is no other option. I guess I should just not eat when I go someplace that doesn't have a vegan option but I am weak and usually there is at least some shrimp to be found. I was feeling sorry for myself when all there was at gatherings and such was carrot sticks and raw broccoli and I am not organized enough to always carry my own food. : ) I ate both shrimp and crabs this weekend (FYI for you and BHK, the crabs were at Drift Inn (off Rt. 5 in Mechanicsville) and were sweet, large and delicious).

yum! Harmony Cafe is on the list to try!

I'm in the same boat as you, food-wise.

Drift inn, too. I really love finding new places to nibble. Let us know next time you're in the region! :D
